With cool weather right around the corner, Fall makes wanting to warm up with hearty, delicious food our ideal choice. Anything we can slow cook to bring out cooking’s finest flavors, is what sounds best. But sometimes all the tasty recipes we find to fill our seasonal desires, don’t always have our health in mind or our busy schedules.
Luckily, this Fall we gathered some of our favorite dishes for you Ladies to enjoy. With simple and wholesome ingredients, each recipe brings out the essence of Fall without forgoing the healthy lifestyle we know you strive for.
ANNA’S TURKEY CHILI
- 1 lb Turkey Meat
- 1 Can Green Chilis
- 1-2 Cans Black Beans
- 1 Small Can Jalapenos
- 1 Packet Chili Seasoning
- ½ Cup Chopped Onion
- 3 Cloves Chopped Garlic
- 2 Cans of Diced Tomatoes
Using a big pot, add chili mix, onion, undrained beans, diced tomatoes, undrained chili's and jalapeños, salt, pepper, a dash of Cayenne pepper, and a sprinkle of garlic salt. Bring to a simmer.
While that's simmering cook your turkey meat in a pan adding a little seasoning to your liking.
Once meat is browned, add to pot and simmer on low for 40 mins.
SHEPHERD’S PIE
- 1 lb Ground Turkey
- I Packet Gravy Mix
- 1 Cup Water
- 3 Cups Prepared Mash Potatoes
- 2 Cups Frozen Peas and Carrots
- Parsley Flakes
Preheat Oven to 350. Brown turkey meat in pan adding salt and pepper. Mix gravy mix and water in small bowl and pour over meat. Bring to a boil. Add peas and carrots, reducing heat to low.
Simmer 5 minutes before transferring meat to baking dish. Top with mash potatoes and bake for 30 minutes. Top with sprinkles of parsley.
BEEF AND POTATO STEW
- 2 lbs Beef Stew Meat
- 1 Packet Beef Stew Seasoning
- 1 ⅓ Cup Water
- 2 Cups Carrot Chunks
- 2 Cups Potato Chunks
- 1 Medium Onion, Chopped
- ½ Cup Celery
Place stew meat and vegetables into crock pot. Mix seasoning and water until blended. Pour into Crock Pot and toss. Cook for 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. Stir before serving.
ELISHA’S TURKEY MEATLOAF
- 2 lbs Ground Turkey
- 2 Shredded Zucchinis
- 1 Cup Milk/Almond Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
- Salt and Pepper
Preheat oven to 350. Mix ingredients together until well-blended. Spread into baking dish, adding a thin layer of ketchup to the top if desired. Bake for 45-60 minutes. Served well with roasted or steamed vegetables of your choosing :)
